Wow! Time flies when you’re having fun…
I missed three months of updates!!! But that’s alright – we’re back on track now!
For those that are new here, this is my monthly “investor update” that I send to friends and family. It’s my way of keeping the people I care about updated about what I’m doing, where I’m going, and what I’m working on.
Let’s review a busy August!
KPIs from August 📈
Miles ran - 215 miles
Total steps - 564k steps
Trips booked - 1 trip (D.C in September)
New coaches - best month ever @ Superset
Races - HTC, Brooklyn Mile
Resting heart rate - 44 bpm
New clients - 5 new clients
PRs - too many
Hood to Coast 🏔️
Hood to Coast is a 200-mile relay race from Mt. Hood to Seaside, Oregon. I ran it a few weeks ago with 11 other friends from all over the US. We ended up finishing 63rd overall out of 1100+ teams and top 12 in our division.
Oh, and we also ran 200 miles in less than 24 hours, finishing with a time of 23:54. It was an insane experience, and I hope to be back next year.
Thank you New Balance & Knockaround 🫶
These were my legs 👇

Coaching 🏃♂️
Over the past few months, I’ve received a lot of interest from friends and colleagues about coaching, specifically for running. So, I decided to get certified and take on my first few clients.
So far, it’s been great. I’m coaching a handful of athletes that have races coming up this fall. And I cannot wait to go cheer them on. Plus, they’re getting really fit!
In other coaching news, one of my clients is down 25 lbs since we started working together – here’s a post I wrote about everything we’re doing to reach his goal.
Superset 💪
For the last three months, Superset has had its best month ever. Despite it being summer, a time where it’s normal to see a slowdown, we’ve seen more and more coaches sign up and use our tools. It’s definitely an exciting time for us, especially heading into Black Friday/New Year.
Here’s one more tid bit for those interested in AI/LLMs 👇
Last week, we had our first coach report that they found us through ChatGPT – which really got me thinking… Ranking well amongst LLMs/AI is going to be crucial for customer acquisition.
Gone are the days where you have to “search” for the answer on Google or some other search engine. ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok will just give you the answer. Or what they think is the answer.
That means it’s never been more important for your business to produce content that is training these LLMs.
To put it simply, LLMs are trained by content on the internet. Which makes a company’s content strategy even more important moving forward. Not less.
At Superset, I’m investing in four key areas: (a) YouTube, (b) Reddit, (c) long-form blog content, and (d) Meta, TikTok, LI, and Twitter (all the other social platforms). These aren’t in a particular order. But they’re all being used to train LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude (and other AI we don’t even know about yet).
The goal is threefold:
Get coaches talking about Superset online in forums like Reddit and YouTube – that’s how user-generated growth happens.
Reverse engineer answers to prompts our target user might ask these LLMs and include them in blog and social content.
Give enough context to the world (and LLMs) about what Superset is, who’s it for, and the benefits. This one is key. Recency matters. We gotta keep storytelling.
Anyway, sorry to nerd out there for a second. If you have thoughts about any of this, I’d love to chat. Feel free to reply to this email 🙂
Wrapping Up ✨
The last three months have been crazy. In the best way possible. I’m having fun, meeting new people, traveling, growing Superset, and living in the best city on earth. What’s not to love?
