Let’s dive in!

The Perimeter Run 🗽

Manhattan is an island.

Which means you can run around it… And run around it, we did!

On May (the) 4th (be with you), me and a few friends (Jack, Ryan, Owen, & Ben) met on the West Side Highway (WSH) at 8 am to “run the perimeter.” We stretched out, looked excitedly at each other, said “f*** it”, and headed south.

About four miles into our journey, we reached the bottom of Manhattan where we turned and faced north. For the next 18ish miles we ran through Chinatown, Midtown, the Upper East, Harlem, and Inwood.

Once we reached the northernmost part of NYC, we stopped for a quick snack and orange juice. We then headed south again, running down the WSH for another 8-9 miles.

Reaching the end was exhausting and exhilarating. I kept looking at people walking by thinking “they must think we’re crazy” for high-fiving and hugging after a seemingly casual Saturday run. But this wasn’t any ordinary run. We just ran around the whole freaking city! It felt good to celebrate…

Will I be doing it again? Probably.

Anytime soon? I hope not (but I’m not not down).

P.S. My favorite part about this run was seeing all the different people of NYC. It’s amazing how much a city can change in just a couple blocks, and to witness that for 200+ blocks running up and down the streets of the best city in the world, man that was a special treat.

Quick Bullets

That’s it for today folks. Hope you’re doing something awesome today and crushing life. Check back in a month 🫡

Cheers,

Noah
